SUBJECT: Confirmation of Officers Brady Gray and Chad Sweigart
MEETING DATE: October 7, 2019
BACKGROUND: I respectfully request that Officers Brady Gray and Chad Sweigart be
confirmed as patrol officers for the Kalispell Police Department. Both Officer Gray and
Sweigart have successfully completed the one year probationary period effective
September 24, 2019
Officer Sweigart has previously worked for the Cheyenne, Wyoming and Columbia Falls
Police Departments. Officer Sweigart brings nearly 10 years of law enforcement
experience to the Kalispell Police Department, including previous time as a Detective and
SRT Team member and nearly 1400 hours of POST training.
Officer Gray formerly worked for the Helena Police Department. Officer Gray brings three
years or prior law enforcement experience including Montana Law Enforcement Basic and
Basic SWAT. Officer Gray has been a member of the Montana Army National Guard
since 2010 and has completed training as a Military Police Officer and Investigator.
Both Officers Gray and Sweigart have excelled throughout the probationary period, earned
respect from their peers and clearly meet the high moral and ethical standards of the
Kalispell Police Department.
It is my pleasure to recommend that both officers be confirmed as police officers with the
Kalispell Police Department.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the confirmation of Officers Brady Gray and Chad
Sweigart as patrol officers for the Kalispell Police Department.
