General construction outline
The removal and replacement of the existing metal roofing on the 80' X 80' central garage building.
Install sheeting on the underside of the 4' x 80' overhangs on the east and west side of the building.
Bids should include pricing for a fall of 2019 replacement or a spring of 2020 replacement. If pricing is
the same please note on bid.
Roofing material
1. A minimum of 24 gauge metal screw less standing seam interlocking metal roofing shall be
used. Metal shall be brown or tan to reduce glare for overhead aircraft.
2. Warranty information should be included in the bid. 25 year warranty on material minimum
requirement.
Material removal
1. Existing roof metal shall be removed and stacked neatly to be disposed of by the City Of Kalispell.
2. Contractors will be responsible for the removal and reinstallation of the three heater exhaust
vents.
Time Lines / Guidelines
1. Contractor shall give the City Of Kalispell a minimum of 10 days' notice before work begins
2. Work shall begin no earlier than 10/1/2019 and be completed no later than 5/31/2020
3. The construction period shall be scheduled with Gene Come (streets superintendent). Scheduling
is of upmost importance for security of the building.
4. The work must be done by 4:00pm on Monday through Friday. The facility must be secured from
4:00pm to 7:30 am Monday through Thursday, and from 3:30 pm on Friday until 7:30 am on
Monday morning. Any holidays that should fall during the time of construction shall fall under
the same rules of work ending at 4:30 pm the last working day before the holiday until 7:30 am
the first working day following the holiday.
S. All bids for the Central Garage Roof Replacement shall be turned in no later than 9/30/2019.
6. Construction shall be performed by a Contractor who is registered with the Montana Department
of Labor and Industry, and shall be properly registered at the time of bid submittal.
