Russ moved to approve the April 14 minutes; John seconded.
Approved 6-0.
Red's — 30 2nd St E -- Bill recused; applicant has project on hold pending fire code issues.
Project to remain tabled.
227 S Main — replacing exterior siding and windows. Using rough sawn cedar (presented
materials). Grid pattern on windows (same size). Existing copper trim to brown.
Medium green new awning. Removing signs and resealing bricks. Just expose brick?
Owner likes the cedar, and there probably isn't any brick under that part. Change white
frames to brown would work; grids may already be constructed. Committee would like to
see the historic look to the building (used old postcard as guidance). They could demo the
siding off and see what is under it. They will call Bill when the siding is removed and he
will get the word out for people to take a look. If no historic material, then proposal is
generally OK. Russ moved to approve as presented with the change to brown window
frames (and grids, if possible), and subject to a review once the siding material is removed
(if there is historic material, it should be restored). John seconded. Accepted a friendly
amendment to make the beam green to match the awning. Approved 6-0.
New Business:
Taco Bell — 535 E Idaho; building remodel and addition. Signs cannot extend over the
roof line. Photo is more representative of color. Red roof tile as existing is better.
Discussion about stone base. Bill moved to approve; John seconded. Approved 6-0.
Northwest Transition Center — 2282 Hwy 93 S; building addition for pre-release center;
discussed parking changes. Existing trees to remain. Addition designed to match existing.
Only fencing by the exercise yard. Mark moved to approve. Russ seconded. Approved
6-0.
Other Discussion:
Other discussion included the Veterans' Memorial sign in Depot Park (staff will check
with the Parks Dept.) and the temporary signs with the temporary car lot on the south end
of town (they received a temporary sign permit).
Meeting Adjourned at 8:30
