Press Release
On the afternoon of August 19, 2019, the Kalispell Police Department received a tip
from Law Enforcement in Washington State that a wanted escapee was last known in
the Kalispell area. Washington Law Enforcement shared that the suspect had violent
tendencies and had recently made threats of suicide by cop. Surveillance was
conducted on a residence in the Woodland Park area. Kalispell's Special Response
Team, in partnership with the Flathead County Sheriff's team, were able to make
contact with the suspect Vance Davis, a 26 year old male, away from the residence. A
traffic stop was conducted near 2nd Street East and College Avenue. A distraction
device was used and Davis was taken into custody without incident. The female driver
was questioned and released on scene.
Davis is being held at the Flathead County Detention facility on charges of a Fugitive
from Justice.
