Resolution 5915 set a public hearing date of April 15, 2019, in accordance with 7- 15-4214 and 7-15-4215, M.C.A. At the public hearing, Council took public comment on the proposed amendment, which would expand the annexation policy boundary around 240-acres of land located at the northwest and northeast corners of the intersection of Church Drive and U.S. 93 North. Coinciding with the expansion of the annexation policy boundary, future land use designations of the properties would be Neighborhood Commercial, High Density Residential, Urban Mixed Use, Suburban Residential and the highway entrance corridor would be extended to the new northern boundary. The first publication date for this public hearing was inadvertently missed, so the public hearing on April 15, 2019, was opened and continued to May 6, 2019. At the subsequent Council meeting on May 20, 2019, the council can take action on the proposed growth policy amendment. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Kalispell City Council hold a public hearing and take public comment on the proposed growth policy amendment, KGPA-19-02. FISCAL EFFECTS: There are no anticipated fiscal impacts at this time. ALTERNATIVES: Deny the request.
