New Business:
Habitat ReStore — 215 W Idaho -- freestanding sign face replacement. Bottom of proposed
sign will no longer have the blue strip. 8 ft clearance under sign. Not lit. Discussion regarding
wall signs (not subject to review, so suggestions only) focused on trying to achieve more
balance. Look at switching larger sign over the door (no space). Can't move further to the side
due to struts and lights. Maybe adjust the borders or size of the signs. John moved to approve
as presented with the suggestion that the wall sign issues be taken into consideration by the
applicant. Bill seconded. Approved 6-0.
Zip Trip (formerly Kum and Go) — replacing sign faces at 305 E Idaho, 1420 Ist Ave E, and
Hwy 93/Reserve. Freestanding panels will be replaced to reflect the new name, along with wall
sign changes which do the same. Two pictures seem to show different size lettering — larger
looks better. Bill moved to approve; John seconded. Approved 6-0.
Valley Bank — 41 3rd St W — exterior remodeling. Corey recused himself (CTA project). Mark
served as acting chair. They are dropping the flying buttresses. New canopy and lighting.
Repairing stucco. Keeping windows. New planters along the west elevation. North and south
sides look great. Concern over the east side facing Main St. They should have more stone,
maybe bring the trim further back, maybe continue the lower stone, or have the SE corner look a
bit more like the south side with the large stone face. Maybe more beige. Need to look at west
side as well to match. Carol moved to table; John seconded. Tabled 5-0.
