SUBJECT: Conrad Drive Water Main Replacement Project
MEETING: March 18, 2019
BACKGROUND:
The Conrad Dr. Water Main Replacement Project is a planned Capital Improvement Project
which will replace 1,276 linear feet of 6" cast iron water main with 8" PVC water main. Also
included in the project are the replacement of various valves and fire hydrants. The work was
broken into a Base Bid and two Additive Alternates. Additive Alternate I consists of replacing
an additional 109 feet of water main and Additive Alternate 2 includes milling and paving the
north lane of Conrad Drive.
Bids were received and opened on March 7, 2019 at 1:40 pm. Five responsive bids were received
from local contractors. The bid results follow:

References for White's Civil Contracting, LLC were reviewed. White's Civil Contracting, LLC
was determined to be a responsible contractor successfully completing projects of similar size
and scope in Montana.
ACTION REQUESTED:
Award the Base Bid, Additive Alternate 1 and Additive Alternate 2 for the Conrad Drive Water
Main Replacement Project to White's Civil Contracting, LLC in the amount of $363,657.00.
FISCAL EFFECTS:
Project funding comes from two different line items:
1. The Base Bid and Additive Alternate 1 (total cost of $317,710) will be paid through
water line item 95210-447-430550-968. There is $359,000 in this line item.
2. Additive Alternate 2 will be paid through pavement fund line item 9 2500-421-430244-
359.
ALTERNATIVES:
As suggested and approved by the City Council.
