A total of 658 feet of 6-inch and 8-inch pipe will be installed along with various catch basins and manholes. City crews will pave the parking lot upon completion of the stormwater improvements. The work was broken into a Base Bid and one Additive Alternate. Bids were received and opened on March 7, 2019 at 1:40 pm. Five responsive bids were received from local contractors. Cutting Edge Excavation, LLC was determined to be a responsible contractor successfully completing projects of larger size and scope in Northwest Montana. ACTION REQUESTED: Award the Base Bid and Additive Alternate 1 for the City Shops Complex Asphalt Rehabilitation to Cutting Edge Excavation, LLC in the amount of $147,474.00. FISCAL EFFECTS: The project construction cost for installation of the stormwater infrastructure will be paid for from the Stormwater Fund Line Item 5349-453-430246-953 Shops Complex Project. There is $188,000 budgeted for the Shops Complex Project. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested and approved by the City Council.
