Box 1997, 201 First Avenue East Kalispell, Montana, 59903 www.kalispell.com REPORT TO: Doug Russell, City Manager J w FROM: Aimee Brunckhorst, CMC, City Clerk & Communications Manager SUBJECT: Appointments to the Kalispell Downtown Business Improvement District Board of Trustees MEETING DATE: January 7, 2019 BACKGROUND: A new Kalispell Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) was created by Council on April 3, 2017 as the old BID was expiring. According to Montana Code Annotated 7-12-1121, a seven member Board of Trustees made up of property owners within the district or their assignees was appointed with approval of the governing body with four year staggered terms. Eric Robbins, and Debbie Snyder, two of the board members that were appointed in 2017 are no longer eligible to serve on the board. Three individuals have indicated interest in serving. BID Board members would recommend the appointment of Curtis Bartel to fill the remaining term of Eric Robbins through April 30, 2020, and Ryan Berweger to fill the remaining term of Debbie Snyder through April 30, 2019. Jayson Peters has also indicated interest. RECOMMENDATION: Mayor Johnson appoint two members to the Downtown Business Improvement District Board of Trustees. The Council offers a motion to confirm the Mayoral recommendations.
