RE: Appointment to the City -County Board of Health
BACKGROUND: The Flathead City -County Board of Health generally supervises the City -
County Health Department with specific functions, powers, and duties as set forth in Montana
Code Annotated Title 50, Chapter 2. Membership of the Board based on State Law and Interlocal
Agreement shall include the Mayor of the City of Kalispell, or his/her designee. The Flathead
City -County Board of Health meets the third Thursday of the month from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Earl
Bennett Building.
For many years, former Council member Duane Larson represented the Mayor. Mr. Larson has
resigned.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that Mayor Johnson appoint, with the
confirmation of Council, an elected official or other designee as the city representative on the
Flathead City -County Board of Health.
