SUBJECT: FY2019 Tourism Business Improvement District
Appropriations
MEETING DATE: August 20, 2018
BACKGROUND: The TBID annual appropriation request is $606,000. The TBID
is a component unit of the City of Kalispell, and City Council approval of the
appropriation is required.
Collections for hotel assessments are passed through to the Chamber of Commerce
from the City, but the City does not maintain a fund on its books to track their
revenue or expenditures.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended the City Council approve Resolution
5893, adopting the appropriations for the Tourism Business Improvement District.

RESOLUTION NO.5893
A RESOLUTION SETTING THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE TOURISM
BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL, MONTANA,
AS SET FORTH IN THE 2018-2019 BUDGET ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL.
SECTION 1. That the annual appropriations for the Tourism Business Improvement District of
the City of Kalispell, Montana are hereby fixed as follows:
TOURISM BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT $606,000
SECTION 2. The Tourism BID Board of Directors is hereby authorized to transfer any part of an
unencumbered balance of an appropriation to a purpose or object for which the
appropriation for the current year is insufficient or to transfer between items
appropriated within the fund.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND SIGNED BY THE MAYOR OF
THE CITY OF KALISPELL, THIS 20TH DAY OF AUGUST, 2018.
