Re: Public Hearing for the Kalispell 2018 Water Facility Plan
Meeting Date: August 20, 2018
A comprehensive Water Facility Plan for the City of Kalispell has been updated and provides a
guide for operational and capital improvements to meet the City's foreseeable water system
needs for present and future year sustainability. A work session was held on April 23, 2018,
reviewing the 2019 facility plan update for the water system.
As part of the consideration for adoption of the 2018 Water Facility Plan, notification and public
hearing processes are applicable, as such the requirement for public hearing prior to Council
taking action for the 2018 Water Facility Plan is scheduled f'or the August 20, 2018 Council
Meeting.
The plan was advertised via local newspaper, social media and circulated to the local
engineering, construction and development community requesting input and comments on the
proposed supplemental facility plan. Thus far, the City has not received any comments.

SUSTAINABLE WATER UTILITY
The 2018 Kalispell WFPU provides a guide for short-term,
near -term, and long-term capital improvements that will be
the basis for planning, financing, designing, constructing, and
implementating of solutions to meet the City's foreseeable water
system needs for years to come. As the City cycles through the
planning process, some uncertainties and changes can be expected.
However, the approach methodology and investment the City has
made in this planning effort provides City staff with a proactive
planning approach for responding to future challenges and
maintaining a clear vision and consistent direction for the Utility!
