Ordinance 490 - Firewood in Inner Fire LimitsORDINANCE NO.490
All ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PILING AND STORAGE OF FIREWOOD WITHIN THE INNER
FIRE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KALISPELL:
SECTION 1. No person or persons, firm or corporation shall pile or store
or keep in storage any quantity of firewood in excess of five cords upon any
lot or lots within the inner fire limits of the City of Kalisrell, as such
fire limits now are or may hereafter be defined or established.
SECTION 2. Any fire -wood stored or piled in violation of this ordinance
is hereby declared to be a public nuisance and it shall be the duty of the
Chief of Police to require the owner of such fire -wood, the person so res-
ponsible for such storage or piling, or other author of such nuisance to re-
move the same forthwith, and if such owner, responsible person or other author
of such nuisance shall fail, neglect or refuse to abate the same within twenty-
four hours after service upon him or her of notice requiring such abatement,
it shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to abate such nuisance and the cost
thereof shall be charged against such owner, responsible person or other author
of such nuisa:ce, to be collected in a suit brought against him or her in the
name of the City of Kalispell, and in addition such owner, responsible person
or other author of such nuisance shall be subject to the penalties provided by
the Ordinances of the City of Kalisrell for the maintenance of a ruolic nuisance.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be and remain in effect thirt,r lots from
and after its passage and ap_r:roval.
Passed by the Cit;, Council of the City of Kalispell, this third day of
November, 1941.
