Meeting - August 16, 2006 - Kalispell City Ball

City Manager announced the expiration of the term of office for Rod Ritney and Tom.
Weber. He asked for comments regarding the appointment of Dave Horener and a person
to be named from the skydiving club. The Council had no objections.
Airport Managers Update:
Web cam issue was brought up again, the site administrator has been given the
information to add to our web site.
Runway lighting issue was brought up again, a new unit has been ordered and the
old unit will be repaired and held as a spare.
Hilton update: Hangar removed and site preparation has begun.
Search pilot clinic will be held the weekend of September 15,16,17.
Chuck Manning easement on the south end is still in negotiations.
Letter sent to KGLZ announcing the Cities intentions to remove the towers from
protected airspace and the City has asked engineers for recommendations.
KCLZ transmission lines still need to be buried in accordance with court order.
Letter from FAA about noise abatement not being a safety issue, but a management
issue. Letter will go out to all licensed pilots in a three county area announcing our
new noise abatement procedures. Discussion followed.
Two 75' X 75' hangar sites have been leased to a developer to build two hangars or_
combine the two and build a large hangar to share with the State of Montana,
Combined hangar will be at least 110,000 square feet.
